Alone

In the depth of her soul,
She is fighting, all alone
Notices nobody, her slow fall,
Hears no one, her painful groan.

That smile shadows her pain,
Her fake demeanor covers her thoughts
Her eyes shine with tears, however in vain,
Her long sleeves cover contusions from battles that she fought.

Her calmness a synonym, for her broken heart,
Her smile, just a cry for help
Her fear, revealing itself in every part,
Yet she refuses to utter a yelp.

Alas! Nobody saw her suffering,
Nobody saw her scars
Her bruises slowly cutting through her wings,
Her days as well as nights ending up at those bars.

Yes, Turn your bruises into art, they said,
They asked her to let them scars shine bright
Though, Nobody dared repair her hope, all dead
They just forgot to show her the way with light.
